Don’t Quit! A Reminder to Give Yourself Some Grace
Okay, I'll admit it – my 2024 goals and intentions haven't gone as well as I had hoped. I planned to work out four times a week, but I got injured on workout two. I intended to post a WiseHeart Gratitude message every day on Instagram, but I think I've managed only ten. While I've been grateful, I'm still working through my insecurities about consistently putting out content.
At times, I've felt tempted to give in and give up, thinking, 'Better luck next year.' However, yesterday, our family lost a precious member to cancer. She lived life to the fullest, embracing love in its grandest form. I'm certain she wouldn't wish she had posted more Insta content or worked out four days a week; she would say, 'Give yourself some grace.' In her honor, today, I am going to reset and extend grace to myself.
Here are my 9 Steps to Getting Back on Track!
Goal setting is fundamental to success in any facet of life, akin to constructing a building where a solid foundation is crucial. Goals provide direction, purpose, and a measurable gauge for progress. To overcome setbacks and challenges, it's essential to envision what your life will look like after achieving your goals.
- Be Specific: Determine my need. Let’s say it is better finances. Determine the exact amount of money needed and define the financial threshold aligning with your envisioned lifestyle. The critical first step is creating and maintaining a compelling vision of the future, prioritizing it over short-term comfort.
- Redefine Those Goals and Prioritize in Order of Importance: Are the goals clearly defined based on the needs determined above?
- Define Sacrifices: What steps am I willing to take to get there? Identify significant sacrifices such as time, resources, and personal comfort. Recognize that achieving greatness often requires sacrificing comfort.
- Establish a Specific Date: Just kidding! This doesn’t work for me at all, but I am still going to try and give myself a goal date. Set a timeframe to instill urgency and drive momentum. Acknowledge that there are no unrealistic goals, only unrealistic time frames. Consider enrolling in a 4-week foundational course for structured goal achievement.
- Review Your Goals 2-3 Times Per Day: Daily versus weekly is a new concept for me that I think may work better. Check in, pray for guidance, and receive the blessing. Break the norm of annual goal reviews; revisit them daily. Write down your goals in the morning, at night, and during challenging times. Express goals in the present tense for increased impact and focus.
- Think Bigger!!!: Embrace goals that challenge, stretch, and transform you. Strive to evolve into the person required for unprecedented success. Participate in the foundational course for comprehensive guidance available to WiseHer Subscribers.
- Track Progress Consistently: Regularly evaluate your progress against set timelines. Adjust strategies as needed, ensuring you stay on the path to success.
- Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate milestones along the way. Use achievements as motivation for further progress.
Let’s see how these steps help reset my 2024 resolutions and goals!
Have a great week,
